RIM to introduce BlackBerry tablet next week [Rumor]
BlackPad, a Black Berry tablet has been talked about for some months now. Finally, there are reports that Research In Motion (RIM) may launch or rather introduce its Tablet as early as next week. The occasion is RIM’s developer conference in San Francisco, which starts Monday.
According to latest report in Wall Street Journal the BlackBerry tablet, also referred to as the “BlackPad” since RIM bought the domain blackpad.com, is said to have a 7-inch touchscreen and at least one camera or maybe two. But the previous reports suggested that the size of BlackPad screen can be as big as 9.7-inch.
According to older reports, it is also mentionable that the BlackPad will not have its own cellular service but rather use BalckBerry cell phone for this. BlackPad may come only with Wifi connectivity and will require BlackBerry for 3G wireless connectivity.
BlackPad will not use RIM’s new BlackBerry 6 mobile OS. Instead it will use a new OS from QNX Software, a company RIM purchased earlier this year. There is no word about the price of this device. We may have to wait for a week to see more details of this device.
