New Apple TV – Delight or Disappointment
The New Apple TV is here and hot in the Internet circles. The debate is over its acceptance; the question is Delight or Disappointment.
The New Apple TV is said to be a disappointment for Apple users and other users in general because a wide variety of product types already contain much of the same functionality as the New Apple TV.
New Apple TV vs Streaming set-top boxes
The other Streaming set-top boxes currently features streaming media from a variety of services, including Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand, Pandora, and MLB.TV.
The Apple TV’s big advantage here is its capability to stream content from networked PCs. The Apple TV can pull music, movies, and photos from a networked computer running iTunes.
New Apple TV vs Blu-ray players
New Blu-ray players are almost as much about streaming media as they are Blu-ray. Entry-level Blu-ray players lack Wi-Fi, but cost about $130 and are capable of streaming from more services than Apple TV. The Apple TV lacks Blu-ray player but it has the Wifi and is much cheaper than Blu-ray players.
New Apple TV vs Game Consoles
You can already stream Netflix on almost all of the game consoles but you cannot play games on Apple TV. The PS3 and Xbox 360 both also have their own TV and movie stores, and both are capable of streaming music, movies, and photos from a connected PC.
The New Apple TV costs $99. Do let us know about your views on Apple TV.
