Microsoft Windows Live Essentials 2010 Beta Features Review
The much awaited Windows Live Essentials 2010 is here. Although it is only released as beta, the feature set is awesome.
Windows Live Messenger got a major overhaul and now introduces tabbed chatting windows. Which means it is easier to manage multiple chat windows at once, especially if you are on Windows 7 (where you have to click twice to get to your chat window). There seems to be a little problem with the advance users as they cannot use power keys ( ALT + Tab) to switch between tabs but hey, you can always use CTRL+SHIFT instead.
Windows Live Messenger also now gives you the freedom to see all the Online Contacts as well as Updates about you and your network in one window. You can also choose which contacts you want to see i.e. Online, Favorite, Group, All etc. You can also block a person with just one click.
Windows Live Messenger also allows you to connect with social networking site such as Facebook and MySpace with MSN and see the updates tight in you Messenger Window.
The concept of Video Chat is now totally change and is much better now with newer looks. It supports HD video chatting too. Windows Live Messenger now provides to view: one called compact (classic) while the View All option gives you much more information in single window.
Windows Live Mail is also looking pretty cool with Microsoft Office like Ribbon controls instead of menus which increases productivity and reduces learning time. Windows Live Mail shows slide show by default for the emails with pictures.
The best feature of Windows Live Mail by far is the ability to see the repliers to an Email. It shows a small arrow with Email that has replies and upon pressing it, contacts who have replied to this email are shown. Know more about Windows Live Mail.
There are loads of other features also. Find out yourself by going Beta. Do let us know about your experience with Microsoft Windows Live Essentials.
